Hello again Friend,

Last time I showed you how to create a bullseye for your job search by getting crystal clear on your Ideal Job Description.

In this mini-lesson we will check to make sure you are on target and ready to proceed.

Do not schedule any more interviews until you have completed this step.

I hope you have made a couple more passes at the questions I gave you last time and have a really good handle on your Ideal Job Description.

Here are the questions again. Make sure you have a distinct written answer to each one before you proceed here.

If you had a magic wand and could wave it and POOF your Ideal Job appeared right before your eyes …

  • What kind of patients would you be working with?
  • What kinds of things would you be doing with / to / for them?
  • For how many hours a week - on what kind of schedule?
  • And how much pay?
  • With what kind of team?
  • In what kind of group?
  • Where in the world?

(Remember: this is in an IDEAL WORLD)

Let’s see if you are on track? The Back Check

Let’s check how close you are to your authentic Ideal Job Description. Try this …

  • Read your answers out loud
  • Close your eyes and take a long, slow, deep breath
  • Imagine these things are actually true for you. Imagine this IS your practice … for real.
  • How does that feel?

If you find yourself smiling, relaxing, finding it hard to believe something like this might even exist, even giggling a little – then you are doing well. Let’s proceed.

If that is not true and you say “meh, no big deal” – you are not done with the Ideal Job Description. Take another run at it and give yourself permission to write down what you REALLY want.

The Ideal Job Description is so valuable you will use it in four key steps of the Ideal Physician Job Search Formula going forward.

1) Managing recruiters and keeping them tightly focused and working hard for you.

2) Mobilizing your personal network to find your next job. NOTE: About half the time your Ideal Job will come from friends/family/colleagues rather than a formal job listing and a recruiter. You must activate this network too.

3) Creating your question lists before you interview is impossible without your Ideal Job Description. With it, you will be able to create power questions that show the exact percentage of overlap with your Ideal Job Description for each job opportunity.

4) You will know when to say “Yes” to an offer without any doubts - or need to cross your fingers and hope for the best.

The Ideal Physician Job Search Formula is literally a step-by-step training program you can use to move from the brain damage and exhaustion of a bad position to your Ideal Job - in a single step.

And if this is your first job, the Formula will show you how to get it right the first time.
